Milestones in filtration and separation technology

Our milestones

The filtration of highly viscous spinning solutions was our origin.

Keeping everything flowing is our constant endeavor.

As part of the Lenzing Group with more than 7,000 employees worldwide,
we prove our innovative strength every day.

2023

In 2023, an extensive rebranding project for filtration and separation technology took place.

Starting with a repositioning of the brand landscape, a new modern logo with a slogan that both creates a connection to the parent company Lenzing with its “claim” “Innovative by nature” and describes a smooth transition for the company's own innovative strength, which stands for sustainable flowing processes for our customers.

This will culminate in a distinct brand identity and corporate identity, which completion shows with this new website in 2025.

2022

In 2022, a patent application is filed for the cake building or precoat filtration solution LENZING CakeFil.

The unique filter candle design, combined with efficient cake discharge, enables long filter cloth service life and unmatched efficiency in removing particles from the pores of the filter cloth.

2020

In 2020, the entire Lenzing Technik division, including the filtration and separation technology division, relocates to its current location in Lenzing/Upper Austria (Bundesstraße 1a).

This marks an important step towards modernization and digitalization.

2018

In 2018, our disposable filtration range, now known as CoreLine, welcomed two new additions:

  • LENZING DoubleFil - a special filter bag solution

and

  • LENZING HisoFil - a special filter cartridge solution.

2012 & 2013

The LENZING OptiFil system is conquering new industrial sectors in 2012 with initial references in:

  • sugar industry

  • automotive industry

  • municipal drinking water treatment

The following year (2013) other industries follow suit:

  • oil and gas industry

  • pulp and paper industry

2009

The success story of today's LENZING OptiFil began in 2009. A patent application was filed for the automatic backwash filter technology.

This opened up completely new markets for the finest filtration of low-viscosity fluids with minimal losses.

2007

Sales of our disposable filters began in 2007.

Today, they are known as our CoreLine product line.

After a short start-up phase, this sales division has seen steady increases in turnover and offers cost-effective filtration solutions thanks to its modular system.

2001

In 2001, a new size of the current LENZING ViscoFil-5 filter was developed.

This was the first time that a rotating mechanism was used in backwashing.

1994

In 1994, the first pressure-driven precoat filter went into operation.

At that time, this filter system was mainly used in the viscose industry.

This is a precursor to today's LENZING CakeFil.

1976 & 1977

In 1976, the first installation of what is now the LENZING ViscoFil filter system took place in the viscose production process (filtration of the spinning solution) at the Lenzing parent company's site in Lenzing, Upper Austria.

In 1977, a patent was filed for the LENZING ViscoFil. The automatic backwash filter system for highly viscous media ensures highly efficient backwashing thanks to its special sealing.
