Filtration of ore-bearing process water

Ore crushing in mining

The slurry of ground material produced during ore crushing, which is suspended in water, is usually classified so that the coarse particle fraction is returned to the crushing chamber and the suspension can be fed to the flotation process with the fine fraction after a thickening step.

The excess process water is then recirculated to the crushing stage.

Minimization of energy input.

When crushing ore, it is particularly important to operate and optimize crusher chambers as efficiently as possible.

To ensure optimum crushing performance with minimum energy consumption, the process water must be as free of particles as possible.

Process water free of solids.

The AutoLine series wedge wire filter -LENZING ScrapeFil - is used to classify ground material particles. The coarse particle fraction is returned to the crusher chamber, while the filtrate containing the fine particle fraction is fed to the LENZING CakeFil cake building filter system. This retains ore-bearing particles with a size of 1 µm and larger.

The purified process water is returned to the cycle so that it can be reused for the suspension of the crushed material.

The solution: TWO-phase filtration

Advantages of using the LENZING CakeFil and AutoLine LENZING ScrapeFil systems

High separation efficiency

The high filter fineness of LENZING CakeFil, combined with the targeted separation performance of LENZING ScrapeFil, ensures optimal conditions for efficient energy use in ore crushing.

System performance

Closed system and long filter cloth service life result in high levels of automation and thus minimal manual intervention.

LENZING CakeFil

The LENZING CakeFil system is a process candle filter for cake building filtration with slurry or dry solids discharge. Its patented system enables highly efficient backwashing, thereby extending the service life of the filter fabric.

Filtration down to submicron range
Dry or slurry discharge
Efficient cake discharge
Unbeatable cloth service life

LENZING ScrapeFil

Self-cleaning automatic filter for high solid contents.

Filtration takes place through the filter element from the outside to the inside, with the solids accumulating on the outside.

The system is also suitable for liquids with high viscosity and for high solids concentrations in the inlet.

Advantages

Filter fineness down to 25 μm
High solid content
Applicable for high viscosities
