To separate impurities, this system uses wedge wire or fabric filter cartridges, through which the medium flows from the inside to the outside, trapping particles on their surface.

By removing the solid particles from the cooling circuit, the bacteria are deprived of their nutrients. This deprives them of their means of survival and reduces their ability to multiply.

So YES, OptiFil is ablee to reduce Legionella in cooling circuits.

The specified filter fineness for the inlet of heat exchangers is chosen to prevent clogging of the channels within the heat exchanger. Filtration at several tenths of a millimeter is often sufficient.

However, finer particles lead to deposits forming on the plates, which reduces heat transfer.

As a result, plate heat exchangers require timely manual cleaning. The finer the filtration, the longer the heat exchanger operates efficiently and the less frequently it needs cleaning.

Both the LENZING OptiFil and the LENZING CanFil are backwash filters that enable high throughput in a very compact setup.

With CanFil, up to 10,000 m³/h can be filtered with one filter unit.

With OptiFil, it is up to 700 m³/h per unit.
